PennyBook: Private Budget privacy at a glance

PennyBook: Private Budget is designed local-first: your expense records, categories, budgets, and backups are stored on your iPhone unless you explicitly export or share them.

No account is required to use PennyBook: Private Budget. We do not run ads in the app, and PennyBook: Private Budget does not connect to your bank accounts.

Information stored on your device

When you use PennyBook: Private Budget, the app stores the financial records you enter—amounts, categories, notes, budgets, recurring bills, and related settings—locally on your device using Apple's on-device storage (SwiftData).

If you enable Face ID or device authentication lock in PennyBook Pro, that protection is enforced by iOS on your device—we do not receive your biometric data.

Payment reminders you set in PennyBook: Private Budget are scheduled locally through iOS notifications.

Information we do not collect in the app

By default, PennyBook: Private Budget does not collect analytics, crash reports, or advertising identifiers. Telemetry and third-party analytics SDKs are disabled in the app configuration.

PennyBook: Private Budget does not require your name, email address, or phone number to function. We do not create user profiles from your spending data.

Purchases through the App Store

If you allow network access and buy or restore PennyBook Pro, Apple and RevenueCat process the purchase history needed to validate and restore your non-consumable entitlement. This may include the product identifier, transaction and entitlement status, store environment, and an automatically generated anonymous App User ID. We use this information for app functionality and to understand the reliability and performance of the purchase flow.

PennyBook does not send your budgets, transactions, categories, bills, notes, or exported files to RevenueCat. PennyBook has no account system and does not provide RevenueCat with your name or email address. We do not use purchase information to track you across apps or websites. RevenueCat acts as our purchase infrastructure provider and must protect data under its own policy and applicable requirements. Your local budgeting data remains on your device and is removed when you delete it in PennyBook or uninstall the app, subject to any backup you created separately. Apple retains App Store transaction records under Apple's policies. RevenueCat retains purchase records only as needed to validate entitlements, operate and secure the service, meet legal obligations, and as described in its privacy policy.

To ask a privacy question, withdraw permission for future purchase-related network access, or request deletion of data controlled by us or associated with the anonymous purchase identifier, email hi@codemxm.com. You can decline network access before using the purchase flow; doing so prevents online purchase validation and restore, while offline Free features remain available.

Exports, backups, and data you control

You may export CSV files, PDF reports, or backup files from PennyBook: Private Budget. Once exported, those files are under your control—you choose where to save or share them.

Deleting the app from your device removes locally stored PennyBook: Private Budget data unless you have kept separate backup files.

Website and support communications

This website does not run advertising or third-party analytics scripts. Our hosting provider may process limited technical request logs, such as IP address, browser information, and request time, to deliver and secure the site. If you email hi@codemxm.com for support, we receive the information you choose to include in your message (such as your email address and description of the issue). We use support emails only to help you.

Children's privacy

PennyBook: Private Budget is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when PennyBook: Private Budget or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy on this page with an updated effective date.
